NFL Super Bowl Champ Visits Coach Rulli's Boys

GCL Alumni Rocky Boiman explains what it takes to reach your goals to the Carroll Football Team.

NFL and Notre Dame Alum Rocky Boiman visited the Fighting Patriot Football Team July 18th as part of the Carroll Athletic Club Leadership Series. He was introduced by his close friend Mack Mariani who is the Director of Political Science at Xavier University. Rocky's message to the team consisted of three life lessons: focus only on the things you can control, no excuses - no explanations, and prepare, prepare, and prepare. Rocky and the team were treated to lunch in the cafeteria. The boys and Rocky had a great time together, even though the team was unsuccessful in convincing Rocky to give them Payton Mannings cell phone number.

'83 Alum Bob Franz Inducted Into the MVFCA Hall of Fame

During halftime of the North/South All-Star Football Game held at Centerville stadium on Friday June 8th, '83 Alum Bob Franz was inducted into the MVFCA Hall of Fame.

It was well deserved recognition for a great guy and outstanding coach. Bob played his college football career at Earlham and began coaching soon after graduation.

Bob, thanks for your years of dedicated coaching and for making Carroll High School proud.

Inaugural Matt Garrison Alumni Bowl Raises $2,200 for Patriot Varsity Football Program

Football Alumni gather May 12th to honor their dear friend and teammate, Matt Garrison.

On Saturday May 12, 2018 over 40 alumni of Carroll High School football came together to support the program and honor former teammate Matt Garrison by competing in a flag football tournament. Matt (Running Back/Cornerback '06) tragically passed away in November of 2017 in a fatal car accident. The event raised $2,200 to benefit CHS Football.

Adam Fearing (Running Back'08) and Matt had conversations about starting this event the summer before the accident. Adam recalled, "The football program was important to Matt and he was helping lead the team as the strength coach. He was a tremendous player during his career and coached that knowledge into  his players. We talked about doing something special for CHS football that could bring alums together. When we lost him, everyone knew we had to honor his memory and move forward with the event."

Carroll's football alumni hope to continue to grow the event every year and keep the memory of their dear friend and teammate, Matt Garrison, alive and close to their hearts.
