PATRIOTS WIN GCL ALL SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP

For the first time in school history, the Carroll Patriots are the All-Sports Champions of the Great Catholic League Co-ed.

The Patriots finished with an overall score of 135.5 to top second place and defending champion Alter High School (128) and the rest of the league. The GCLC awards points to each school based on how each sport finishes in the league standings. Carroll also finished in first place for the winter season of boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball, boys’ bowling, girls’ bowling, boys’ swimming, girls’ swimming, and wrestling.

“We could not be more proud of our student athletes, coaches, faculty, and staff,” Athletic Director Scott Molfenter said. “To have all of our athletic programs recognized for a collected effort speaks volumes about the pride the Carroll community puts into the accomplishments of our young men and women. We are a proud member of the Greater Catholic League and honored to be recognized as the 2018-19 GCL Co-Ed All Sport Trophy Winners!"

From 1988-2012, the Patriots won the All-Sports Championship 16 times in previous leagues. Carroll became a member of the GCLC in the 2013-14 academic year.
